Workshop Documents

The scientific program of the Workshop is the responsibility of the Organising Committee and is listed here, however the workshop purpose is to define the scientific context and strategic priorities for DOE-BES' electron scattering development over the next decade and beyond.

The output of the workshop will be a report and/or roadmap that should provide a compelling case for new investment in electron scattering instrumentation and capabilities.

The scope of the workshop is somewhat limited by the duration and number of participants that have been targeted by BES. The workshop will last only one-and-one-half days, so from a practical standpoint will allow just two morning and two afternoon sessions, plus a summary and wrap-up the next day. Because of this limited time scale the workshop organizers have decided to focus the invitee's into specific Breakout areas, which are of importance to ongoing DoE reserach initiatives.

All participants are asked to contribute, in advance of the workshop, one or two viewgraphs representing a Grand Challenge which needs to be addressed in the next decade, yet cannot be addressed by the current and/or near-term instrumentation. A template and copies of all currently submitted viewgraphs are provided below.
