NCSA PALEDIT

NCSA PalEdit is a tool for the creation and customizing of color palettes that
may be used with other NCSA software such as NCSA Image. With PalEdit, you can
modify the whole palette or intervals in the palette, to create a set of colors
tailored to your needs.

REQUIREMENTS

To run NCSA PalEdit, you must have a Macintosh with color hardware
capable of displaying 256 colors simultaneously. You also must have
System software version 6.0.2 or later installed on the machine.

NEW FEATURES

New features in the tool panel of NCSA PalEdit version 2.0 include
interval manipulation tools that allows you to make range selections
in the palette and component plot simultaneously, and an
interpolation tool, which interpolates across the current palette
interval.

Moreover, several tools and commands that used to solely modify a
range of the palette now modify intervals of the palette/plot.

As in NCSA PalEdit 1.2, you can also:

	Load and modify existing palettes

	Create and customize new palettes

Save new or modified palettes in the following file formats:

		raw palette
		HDF
		Klutz DA
		Canvas
		PixelPaint

Use any combination of four color models - RGB, CMY, HSV, and
        HSL

Adjust the individual color components of any of the four color
        models

Select and modify regions of interest

Rotate color entries in the palette in either direction

Change the color of an individual color entry using the color
        wheel dialog box

Copy and paste palettes from NCSA PalEdit into other
applications, such as NCSA DataScope, NCSA Image, NCSA ImageIP,
        NCSA Layout, and NCSA GelReader
