N ------------------------------------------------------------------------ < Instructions for Contributing to the G Electron Microscopy and Microanalysis Public Domain Library . (EMMPDL) N ------------------------------------------------------------------------ RThe purpose of this library is to make available to the scientific community Rpublic domain software useful to electron microscopists nationwide. As such all Rsoftware contributed to this library is considered to be in the Public Domain Rand thus will be made available free of charge to interested parties so long as Rit is not distributed for resale. The various software programs listed herein Rremain property of the documented authors and users are encouraged to reference Rthe authors as appropriate. Contributors are invited to submit fully documented Rprograms, subroutines or other computer-related microanalysis information (i.e. Rhardware hints, interconnection instructions etc.) which maybe useful to the Rgeneral microscopy community. Upon receipt of sufficient documentation, the Rsoftware will be included in the library listings. Evaluations and comments >will be appended to by the system librarian time permitting. RIn order to prevent unauthorized usage or system security penetration file Rtransmission (downloading) using a telephone hookup will be READONLY. Library Rsubmission will be strictly limited to contributions on FLOPPY DISK, DISKPACK or RMAGNETIC TAPE sent to the address listed below. Source code and/or Rdocumentation using conventional computer printout will not be accepted as Rtranscription facilities are not available. Similiarly, copy generation is only Rby file transfer using telecommunications. No DISKCOPY or HARDCOPY output Rfacilities are provided. The following input media formats for contributions are presently supported: &DEC PRO-380, PDP-11, VAX-11/730-785 %----------------------------------- 3Floppy Disks : RX01,RX02 Files-11 Format (8 inch) 7 : RX50 P/OS,Files-11 Format (5 1/4 inch) +Diskpacks : RL01,RL02 Files-11 Format =Magnetic Tape: 800/1600 BPI, 9 Track, ANSI Standard Format IBM PC and Compatibles ---------------------- GFloppy Disks : Double Side Double Density MS-DOS Format (5 1/4 inch) GFloppy Disks : Double Side Double Density MS-DOS Format (3 1/2 inch) !APPLE IIC, II+, IIE, MacIntosh ------------------------------ IFloppy Disks : Single Side Single Density APPLE-DOS Format (5 1/4 inch) I : Single Side Single Density PRO-DOS Format (5 1/4 inch) I : Single Side Single Density CP/M Format (5 1/4,inch) I : Single Side Quad Density MacIntosh Format (3 1/2 inch) KAlternatively, users may submit fully documented software via BITNET, whichLis a worldwide computer communications network. The software should be sentDvia your Electronic Mail to the BITNET address: "ZALUZEC at ANLEMC".RUpon request, media will be returned to the authors after copying and Rverification is completed. Each contribution to the EMMPDL must include 3 FILES Rper submission having the default names "FILENAME".ABS, "FILENAME".DOC, and R"FILENAME".SRC. Here "FILENAME" is the author suggested name of the Rcontribution, while the extensions ABS, DOC, and SRC refer to the contributions RABSTRACT, DOCUMENTATION AND SOURCECODE respectively. The librarian will attempt Rto preserve the uniqueness of each "FILENAME" submitted. The files must Ccontaining the following information for inclusion in the EMMPDL. * FILE No. 1 * ---------- - "FILENAME".ABS RAn ASCII file containing an ABSTRACT of the purpose of the code. The abstract Rshould be nolonger than 80characters x 22 lines (i.e. ~ standard CRT Screen RDisplay, Note: the 23rd and 24th lines are reserved for system communications). RPlease note the special format of the first 9 lines of the file which contain Rclassification information. Beginning on line 10 the file may have any Rappropriate format the contributor desires up to a maximum width of 80 characters/line. Include all appropriate references to publication Rhere. Documentation should also include sufficient examples of both INPUT and ROUTPUT data to allow user to perform local error checking to confirm operation Rof the code.
